Camberley Heath - 18th March 1998
| It was excellent to see such a good turnout for this event,
29 players enjoying a fine day on a great course. Apologies to
those who had a bit of a rush to get started in the morning. We
had to bring the start time forward to accomodate the large numbers
and to ensure that everyone completed their afternoon round before
dusk. Some obviously coped far better than I with the super fast
greens! |

Weybrook Park - 29th April 1998
| A disappointing turnout of just 10 found their way to Weybrook
Park (despite the useless map that I provided - apologies to all).
However, astonishingly we all avoided the showers in what must
have been one of the wettest April weeks ever. |

Newbury & Crookham - 28th May 1998
| I had forgotten just how good Newbury was, but htose that played
all found the course in magnificent condition with the greens
being an absolute joy to putt on - yes, even I made some putts!
Again we were fortunate with the weather, with not a drop of rain
falling during the day. |

Wildwood - 25th June 1998
| Another excellent course was thoroughly enjoyed by those that
could make it. The lowest turnout yet (8) found the course a worthy
challenge and i'm afraid the testing nature of some of the holes
took it's toll on more than one card, so congratulations to those
who scored well. |

The Army - 30th July 1998
| An excellent course in superb condition was made into a real
challenge by a stiff breeze that kept the scoring high. However,
the rain held off again (surely we're due a drenching somewhere!)
and the 24 golfers who set out returned with varying success;
some obviously having paid more visits to the trees than others.
Some I hear even left a ball on the airfield! |

Mannings Heath - 23rd September 1998
| Two very nice courses, the old course being a particular favourite
of mine, were presented in excellent condition and another most
enjoyable days golf was had by all who attended. Matt Demery played
very solidly all day and in the end won the Club Championship
quite comfortably. However, just about everyone had their moments
and more than half the field walked away with prizes! |

Alresford - 15th October 1998
| Nine members enjoyed an excellent days golf on a well-presented
course. A number of the holes, it has to be conceded, got the
better of us, particularly the par 3's - resulting in the nearest
the pin marker doing a near full circuit of the course before
Alwyn finally put us all out of our misery by finding the green
(we won't mention the 4 putt though!). |
